Hanorah

Hanorah (@hanorahmusic) is a singer-songwriter from Montreal, QC. When it comes to music, singing runs in the family as Hanorah used to watch her mother sing in the gospel choir when she was 6 years old. Hanorah’s genre of music is soul, funk & rock and her voice is usually compared to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Etta James and Joss Stone. The irony is that her major musical influence is Joss Stone, but she is also inspired by Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Otis Redding and Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes. In 2015 is when Hanorah initially started performing solo, with a more electronic sound out of necessity. Eventually her songs called for a “rock ’n’ soul” band, so in 2016 she assembled a band with guitarist Paul De Rita, bassist Adam Shore , keyboardist Christian Henegan-Comeau and drummer Olivier Cousineau. Hanorah has performed at various festivals and stages including opening up for the iconic Mavis Staples at Pop Montreal. Make sure to have a listen to her 2019 EP “For the Good Guys and the Bad Guys” on streaming platforms.
